Ben Jillett is a repatriation
investigator with IBC, a position he has held since 2001. He is
assigned to the Provincial Auto Theft Team (PATT), whose members
include the Ontario Provincial Police, regional and city police
services, and Canada Border Services Agency.
Mr. Jillett is an integral part
of PATT and also maintains an important position within IBC as the
organization's representative in the international world of auto
theft investigation and repatriation. On a daily basis, Mr. Jillett
works with embassies, government officials, members of Interpol and
others to represent the interests of IBC members. Over the past
year, he played a vital role in several international
investigations and, due to his expertise and vast network of
contacts, was called upon frequently by members of the law
enforcement community for assistance.
Prior to joining IBC, Mr. Jillett
spent 30 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Working in the area of organized crime, he honed his skills as a
criminal intelligence investigator and gained extensive experience
liaising with foreign agencies.
Mr. Jillett is the director of the North American Export Committee
and a member of both the Canadian Association of Special
Investigation Units and the International Association of Auto Theft
Investigators. He has been honoured with the RCMP Long Service
Medal, a United Nations peacekeeping medal for service in Bosnia,
and Canada's Peacekeeping Medal.
Ben had been appointed Director - North America Export Committee
(NAEC) Executive Committee in May 2003 and a member since 2001
